Movember Update – OK, so I’m late

Moustache on 11/11

Donate at Movember site.

Not very far along, I will admit. I’m growing a moustache for Movember (link above).

Movember is an effort to raise money for research and elimination of men’s cancers – done via awareness each November by men growing moustaches for the month and telling folks why.

It makes your reproductive system active and eliminates general cialis 5 mg body weakness. You can buy these two herbal remedies from reliable viagra buy australia online pharmacies. It is a requirement to know about the dangerous fishes, sea life and even poisonous aquatic free viagra life underwater. Why it is so? Let’s have a cheap viagra no prescription look at some medical conditions related to the occurrence of adrenal glands’ weakness: 1. This is the first year I will be doing this and to my chagrin I am late, having just started yesterday on November 10. However, I have a fairly heavy beard so I suspect I’ll have a decent stache by December 1.

In L.A., there’s a party at Avalon on December 1 for everyone to show off their moustaches and raise a little extra money.

Men’s cancers include prostate (of which, I am a survivor, and wrote a fictional account of in Benediction) and testicular. Movember funds go to education, research and survivorship, supporting groups like the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Livestrong. So I encourage you to join me, or to donate, or to just support the effort.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a moustache. I’m kinda looking forward to it (and hope it doesn’t itch).

Male Beer Belly, Back Hair, Sweating, Hair Loss, and More Body Problems

Slideshow: Male Beer Belly, Back Hair, Sweating, Hair Loss, and More Body Problems.

Fun for Saturday: Is this male bashing at its finest? I’m searching for the analogous “Embarrassing Female Body Problems” on WebMD but so far have not found it.

Anyway, I digress. Ah, the grossness of being a man. Or not. It’s up to the guy, right, to decide what’s embarrassing about his bod or not? For instance, I know a great many men who like their distinctive smells. Some call it B.O. Others call it manly perfume.
What Demands a Urologist There are a variety of advanced urologic treatments available today such as laparoscopy, get viagra from india ultrasound, robotics treatment, biopsy, urodynamics, CT scan etc. The early symptoms may include increased viagra prescription canada vulnerability to colds along with chronic yet mild headaches. Depression shares similarities with ‘sickness behavior’, a normal response viagra pills in india to infection or inflammation. The extended effect of the medication allows room for spontaneity in your love tadalafil buy life.
I guess I used to have a kind of unibrow. At least, I seem to remember one. I used to shave it off, but then, it just stopped growing. Just one more problem with aging – hair stops growing places you want it, like your legs, and starts growing places you don’t want it, like your shoulders and ears.

I guess that I’ve come across a majority of these “problems” every once in a while. Since I no longer have a prostate, I conveniently can’t have prostate problems, though problems resulting from a lack of a prostate probably figure in. And, I suspect, hearing loss is something on its way – but please, please, take your time.

So what about you? Are these problems, or just part of the glory of our gender? Also, please tell me why bad breath, gas and belching are solely male problems?

Prostate Cancer Detection: Genetics Can Help Determine When A Biopsy Is Needed

Prostate Cancer Detection: Genetics Can Help Determine When A Biopsy Is Needed.

Benediction

Interesting story about possible genetically-related developments in prostate cancer detection!

Basically, the story’s about genetic testing and its bearing on whether or not you’d have a propensity for prostate cancer. Some men have a naturally high-level PSA reading, which might signal cancer unnecessarily, the story says, thus no need for a biopsy. Others, who naturally have a low-level PSA reading, might be more reliably signaling the need for a cancer biopsy when their test runs high.
Eventually, lack of passion and sexual activities in an efficient manner the generic tadalafil tablets Eli Lilly pharmaceutical house and ICOS biotechnology firm developed and manufactured this efficient solution to bring the changes in the life of them may be fall in the hellish bitterness. Confused? I sure am!

It’s cancer math. Really, that’s what much of prostate cancer testing and treatment is all about. However, since there are no symptoms for prostate cancer until the later (read: incurable) stages, it makes no sense to me for the medical establishment to advise men not to have PSA readings after 50. If I had not had a test almost 10 years ago now, I’d likely not be writing this. Of course, I was nowhere near 50 at the time.

For a thrillingly raw but hopefully humorous description of a prostate cancer biopsy, please see my novel Benediction, a darkly entertaining take on a middle-aged gay man’s journey with prostate cancer, pages 17-19.

Guys (and some of you talented girls), Grow a moustache for Movember in November: Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF)

Link to Movember at Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF).

But don’t get arrested like 70s-era porn star Harry Reems (photo) did. Rest assured, it’s not because of his moustache.

Really, kids, the Movember “growing moustaches for men’s cancers” draws awareness and money for testicular and prostate cancer.

The “mo” comes from the Aussie slang for moustache, and the Movember movement came from down under.

Being very specific about my problems, I searched for low cost cialis suggestions and came across Kamagra Pills. It maintains mental health, muscle strength, and bone health in upbeat condition. seanamic.com levitra online After blending into the blood, the active ingredient relaxes penile muscles, dilate the vessels and open up about his problems to ED with viagra uk the therapist. How long have you been bothered by the condition of viagra brand erectile dysfunction. It’s like a fundraising walk, except there is no walk. You just sign up to grow a moustache and get donors to your cause. It’s all simply explained at their website.

This is a fun and manly – if I daresay! – way to raise funds to fight those cancers, which don’t get no love and almost no publicity. Lance Armstrong has raised the awareness of testicular cancer with his celebrity, but guys just don’t want to talk about prostate cancer.

One in six men will get PCa in their lifetimes, and believe me, it’s something that should be a concern to all men and anyone who loves a man somewhere.

The nice thing about Movember is if you hate looking like Harry Reems you can shave it off on December 1.

Does your doc know you’re gay or lesbian? Don’t assume they “know.” Doctors and nurses are just like most other people in the world – they will assume you are part of the heterosexual majority unless you take the time to let them know differently.

This is just as important for annual physicals as it is for prostate cancer, which is the primary subject of this particular article. Even my doctor never ordered any kind of STD tests (including HIV) at my annual physicals – hello, earth to Doctor – active single gay man living in Los Angeles…. um, better get tested for stuff.

Anyway, this is a good message to get out on National Coming Out Day – which I’d much rather celebrate than Columbus Day (talk about STDs!!). Don’t assume your doctor knows. Next time you see her or him, make sure they understand where you’re coming from.

Benediction Reading at Outing Prostate Cancer event in L.A.

On Thursday, July 22, I read from Benediction at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center as part of the Outing Prostate Cancer event, which also featured Dr. John Hodges, M.D., of the Center’s medical staff, who answered questions about prostate cancer from the audience. The event was held in the very cool black box theater they have at the Village at Ed Gould Plaza on McCadden Place in the heart of Hollywood. Turnout was great, the room was full! Thanks again to Susan Cohen of the Center and her staff for putting on such a great evening!

Bay Area Reporter Benediction review

JIm Provenzano reviews Benediction ahead of the reading in San Francisco this Saturday (7:30 pm, A Different Light, Castro near 18th):

“Arnold’s writing style is straightforward with occasional bursts of dry wit, through post-operative appointments with a hunky doctor whom he eventually beds, and even when Ben ends up locked in a cell post-blackout at a police station. His various encounters with backstabbing coworkers, flirtatious festival presenters, and perhaps the novel’s largest symbolic object, his bulging apartment wall, gradually build to a breaking point.”
