Luckily, I got it back last night. THey replaced the logic board and hard drive and some other problematic cables etc. It’s like having a brand new computer! They couldn’t/wouldn’t elaborate on what happened, but they didn’t charge me a penny! I lost about 2 weeks worth of editing on my book, but everything else seems intact. My takeaway: back up everything daily to the external drive and the “cloud.” Onward.

At work, everything’s backed up to the server every night. At home all I really worry about is the blog, and that’s on the Google server.
